Turned on my record player— It was Rock-a-day Johnny singin’, “Tell Your Ma, Tell Your Pa Our Love’s A-gonna Grow Ooh-wah, Ooh-wah”

2/12/16 – Photo by Blathnaid. First gig in ages, and first gig with new drummer John and it was pretty, pretty good.

The poster says it all really. Invaderband play their first show this year, upstairs in Sandinos, Derry. There will be a little present for everyone who comes. Note that this is NOT an album launch – I’ll try to sort that for January. x

A bright red seventeen

cd

The Invaderband album is now out at the start of 2017. Blame me for not realising how long vinyl takes to press. However people who ordered the vinyl will still get the album on the original release date of 25th November, albeit on a CD (pictured) instead. The vinyl will then follow around Christmas time.

The street date for the album is now 6th Jan 2017.

Invaderband Is Nigh

inv-front

It’s been a while. Sorry I’ve been quiet. Life, etc.

But I’m delighted to finally be able to announce my next record. It is the self-titled debut album from Invaderband. And I believe it’s the best thing I’ve ever been involved with. It will be released on 25th November on Digital Download and Vinyl LP formats.

Pre-orders of the vinyl edition will also bag you a free & exclusive 3-track CDr of previously unreleased Invaderband material. These tracks will not be made available in any other way, ever. An instant rarity. Anyway, you can listen to the opening track and pre-order here.

If you don’t want to use bandcamp, you can also pre-order a copy directly from me, which is fine and dandy as it means I won’t have to pay bandcamp or paypal fees.

The Dark Dog

In the clearing where you wait
There’s no love and there’s no hate
Only he can know your fate
He is seated at your gate
The dark dog

On the blackened snowy street
There’s no light and there’s no heat
All your paths now obsolete
He is snarling at your feet
The dark dog

Now your mind comes to the boil
And a fog descends on all
Ice is forming on your wall
He is scratching in the soil
The dark dog

‘Last Night I Dreamt Of Hibrihteselle’ by Richard Moult

last night

Composer, painter and poet Richard Moult‘s new solo album Last Night I Dreamt Of Hibrihteselle, a Loegrian dream sequence, can now be purchased from Delphine Dora’s exquisite label Wild Silence. The album comprises of song settings to poems by Mary Webb, Ivor Gurney and Gladys Mary Coles, and includes guest appearances from members of United Bible Studies, as well as artists such as Delphine Dora, Adam Leonard, Amanda Feery and Sophie Cooper.

I am honoured to sing on this album. It has been an immense labour of love for Richard, a friend and true artist, and I believe the finished album to be a triumph.
